New Wall Design

The original plan for the wall was to have three large waves
but because of their size I am suggesting to just have one large wave
with a couple pairs of smaller waves to accompany the large wave.

This weekend the wall would look like this.

The weekly words and icons would be added over the next weeks as originally planned.

The Living Water Rises

I don't know why I thought I had time to muse on Easter today, but I did anyway, and this came to me.

8 9 8 9
Behold! Ye crackling, arid lands,
And all your people, gravely thirsting;
Now rushes o'er your dying sands
The Living Water’s torrent bursting!

The Christ, the babe of meager means,
The wandering healer, teacher, brother,
The broken body, crucified,
Has triumphed as has never other;

8 8 D
For he has risen; death defied,
In spite of nails, and lance, and blood
And water flow’d from piercèd side,
This dying stream turned living flood?

Hear now, O people! Raise your eyes!
Let not another precious tear
drop vainly on the parchèd soil;
For now our thirst, our grief, our fear

7 7 D
Washes away! The Living
Water, a spring e’er flowing,
Welling within, e'er giving
Life to all souls bestowing!

Allelu, Alleluia
sing to the Living Water
Rising! Sing Alleluia,

Allelu, Alleluia!

Developing Easter thoughts …Resurrection Fountain Garden

Three sculptural Resurrection Fountains can be made from hypertufa with accompanying circular basins. The water would not spray but bubble.  It can be pumped up the length of the sculptures and/or come from brightly colored hoses spiraling up the fountains.  The Easter garden flowers will integrate beautifully into this as well along with four wedge planters that can also contain Easter flowers. Again, this provides an great opportunity for group involvement.

This year we will process the banners which will be adorned with watery

overlays .  They will serve as a backdrop to the chancel and its sides.
Glitter?, you ask...of course!

Developing Easter thoughts … Congregation Participation

Inspired by our activity on the floor several years ago, we could develop an idea during the Lenten journey for the congregation to get in on the action that gradually blues as it nears the font or it may be a watery surprise at Easter and the bubbles that the people fill out during the Lenten season reappear as water bubbles along the gush of water from the font to the chancel or vice versa.

Developing Easter thoughts …Easter- large white wall

After the desert sands of Lent, a roiling gush of water can conceptually refresh the Easter soul on the large white wall of the sanctuary. Made of sectioned foam and paper this should be light weight and easy to execute.  A good group project
